I wrote this a couple of weeks ago, but was interrupted or something and didn't finish it. Just found the unfinished post and decided to finish it up................
Before Audrey was born, Genny and I spent every day together doing stuff. And it was fun. But at the same time, I'm not sure she appreciated it as much since it was just what we did. After all, what else did I have to do except spend time with her?
But since Audrey was born, that time has been hard to come by. She's had a lot of one-on-one time with Robert, but not so much with me. So today I asked her to go to the mall with me. I needed some makeup. I promised cookies.
We got to talk on the way there. I promised myself I wouldn't hurry her or nag. She held my hand the whole time. We went to the Clinique counter and she sat in my lap as the lady found my foundation color. We sang a song and danced as I paid. She kept pulling my hand up to her face like it was a special time for her too. We got cookies and sat and ate them. We sat where she wanted to.
Then we got back in the car, and we went to buy some things for her upcoming birthday party. We bought items for the favor bags. I let her choose whatever she wanted. Still holding hands. And plastic rings and bouncy balls for her friends too.
Anyway, it was a special date for us. Even though I miss having a lot of time with Genny, I don't think I appreciated it as much! Now I treasure each Genny-and-Mommy adventure that we get!
