Some things are just funny....

Genny started ballet classes at AC. It's a mommy and me class, so I am getting to learn ballet as well. Hooray.

Fortunately, Genny is teaching Audrey ballet. It's hilarious. She seems to think the move Audrey is most likely to "get" is pointing and flexing her toes, and she helps her do this a LOT while saying "yay Audie!" Audrey likes this (usually) because she likes for Genny to sit and talk to her.

Random wanderings in my mind....

1. Genny has a new catchphrase. It's "h-i-j-k-l-m-n-o-p" She yells it randomly or uses it to change the subject when she's in trouble.

2. Audrey is fascinated with her own hands. It's funny.

3. Audrey is right at 10 pounds, which seems huge to me. Her 0-3 month clothes are starting to really fit her well...

4. My children seem to alternating days on naps. I can't get them to sleep simultaneously.

5. I remember when Genny used to dance to the intro to "The Office." It was awesome.

6. I have a craft show coming up soon that I'm getting ready for. Seems a little overwhelming right now. It's July 4 in Canyon on the square. I'd love to see you there!

7. Audrey is also fascinated with her reflection in the mirror. Hmm.. I wonder if this is telling us something for teenage years?

8. My craft blog was featured on a craft site, which was awesome. Here's the link to it.

9. Still working on potty training. It's led to many funny situations, most of which are probably not entertaining unless you have or are currently potty training. Most of the stories start something like this: So today when I was trying to convince Genny to sit on the potty a little longer, I offered to paint her fingernails pink while we waited and then....

Audrey was happily playing and is now asleep. Awesome!

This morning's videos

So this is a video of Gen doing a dance from a Dora episode we have watched at least 20 times in the past few months. If you are the mother of a similarly Dora-fanatic child, you will recognize this as the "shake your body just like a crab" dance. Hee hee.

And this video is ... well, miraculous. It's Audrey playing. happily. in the floor. with a toy. Since she spent the majority of her first 10 weeks home hollering and trying to claw my face off, this is a real miracle. maybe she won't be quite as grumpy as we thought.

The Sound of Music

This morning Audrey just wouldn't calm down. and Genny wouldn't play independently so I could tend to Audrey. Instead, she decided to help.

By singing. And playing her drum. As loudly as possible. And marching around the living room.

I should mention that she was singing the song for Audrey. To make her feel better.
