Audrey (sort of) walks

So Audrey is taking a couple of steps between people when properly launched and caught. Which I'm calling a major accomplishment! See, we have video to prove it.

Sorry the video cuts off abruptly, I had to stop it to catch her. You don't want the baby to crash land, do you? Of course not.

And please excuse my maniacal laughter. I'm going to work on that, now that I've heard it on video.....

To the canyon!

We took the girls out to Palo Duro Canyon for a picnic.
And we decided to take Genny on a little stroll....
which she loved, so it turned into some serious hiking!
Can't believe she's only 3! She was such a trooper. I think that in her mind, she WAS Dora the Explorer. Whatever it takes! I've never seen her try so hard at something.
Of course, Audrey Kate was there too! She enjoyed having so much to look at. And it turns out that a hike while carrying a 1-year-old is indeed a cardio workout. Just in case you were wondering...
top of the world!
How many sunglasses can you count?
So brave!

Trying to get caught up...

I'm behind. I'm trying to get caught up. Forgive the randomness.
I decided to learn to paint faces. Genny is a very patient model. This is a butterfly.
Audrey has a new hairdo. I think it's funny.
Genny on the last day of gymnastics. She has come so far! Despite her expression, she has really gained a lot of confidence in gymnastics!
Audie Kate.
Here we are at Audrey's baby dedication.

Audrey and the vacuum

I've said many times that I think Audrey is genetically 95% me. But here is one trait she most definitely did not get from me. She loves the vacuum. Loves it!

You can also see in this video Audrey's version of walking.

Here's what happens when men childproof things.

Last night my heroic husband was hanging up pictures for me. Cause he's awesome. And I love him. Keep that in mind.

So this morning I noticed this:
on the girls craft table (very near where the picture hanging was taking place, by the way.)
It's a large pile of drywall dust.
But don't worry, it's not where the girls are going to get into it, put it on the dog, use it as makeup, eat it, or do anything else weird with it.
It's under a cup, for pete's sake. They'll never figure that one out!

My pretty pony!

This weekend was Genevieve's first dance recital. She was a pink circus pony.
Isn't she cute!
She did a tap routine.
It involved a lot of tail swishing. Which was fun.
And she got to wear makeup!!! In public!! This was most definitely her favorite part.
And she got flowers afterwards from her Daddy!
She was quite proud. And we were proud of her!
