Halloween!

So pictures from last night.... we had so much fun!  Halloween is a blast.
Genevieve was a beautiful monarch butterfly.
Audrey was a scary dinosaur.  A T-Rex, specifically.  ROAR!
There was a very decorated house near us.  The cat was the least scary thing.
Boo!

Fair 2011

We took the girls to the fair.  We did it the cheapskate way, getting in before 1 for free, feeding us pb&j beforehand and just getting a snack there, and going when the rides weren't working.
We really enjoyed the pettting zoo.  It was fun.

Then things started going downhill.  Watch Genny's expressions.
We let the girls choose a snack.  They went with blue bell.
{I don't think that other stuff is food, mom}

We went and saw the exhibits.  Giant cow here.

Highlight of the trip -- Look at the giant pumpkins!
{Mom, can we go home?}
And Audrey apparently wanted in with the tiger.

Yes, she's using a fork for a hairbrush.
Yes, we do have hairbrushes.  I don't know why the fork was used.
No, we're not moving.  Those are kids' clothes I am rearranging.

Scooter Dude

We've introduced a new furry friend into our house.  His name is Scooter.
He got a new haircut and seems to think he's dapper.

He's a yorkie-ish dog.  We're thinking yorkie + at least one other special ingredient.
Daisy is enjoying having a furry friend to play with, at least when he doesn't annoy the crap out of her.

He's pretty sure he's one of the girls.  See him in the row of babies?

Genny's first days

Genevieve started preschool last week.  All ready.  Cool as a cucumber at home.
not quite so cool at school.  It was a bit intimidating, but she's getting into the swing of things!

Genny's first day of ballet
Very excited!  See those shiny new shoes on her feet?  Got a little story for ya, ags.  Right about 15 minutes before dance class was scheduled to begin, I asked Genevieve to put her dance shoes on.  That she hadn't worn in 2 months.  And guess what?  They didn't fit.  Not even close.
So on the way to class, we made a flying trip by Razzle Dazzle, and they were so nice to fit her and get us out the door quickly, wearing the new shoes.

Did you hear that?  Right, it's my kids' feet growing.

meet my 2-year-old.

We're eating dinner.

A:  I want more grapes!
Me:  Finish the rest of what's on your plate and you can have more.
A:  No, Mommy!  Das meeeeean!
Me:  No, it's not mean.  You have to eat dinner before getting anything else.
A:  Well, is weeeeeird!
Me:  Nope, completely normal.
A:  Is not morble.
Me:  That's the rule.  We eat our dinner.
A:  Is NOT dinner, is lunch!

2011 Vacation, part 1

Last week we went to San Antonio for a vacation.
We wanted to make the most of our time, so we took a 7 am flight.  Which meant we pulled the girls out of bed and drove to the airport.
Some of us were less happy about this.

The girls retrieved the luggage while Robert went and rented a car.
We stopped at the Children's Museum in Downtown San Antonio, which was fun.

For everyone!

and we hit the riverwalk.
Genevieve thought it was great.  Audrey kept reminding us to not jump in.

Us girls.

The little girls.

All of us!
Then we headed out to Hunt, TX for our family reunion with Rob's Poling cousins.

Girls and their Papa Stan

Genny did so well swimming in the river!

Audrey got into swimming as well.
