Genny.... running.

I love this video. Not only is she demonstrating her mad bunny hop skills, she turns around and RUNS! Awesome.

Gymnastics day!

Yay for Genny! This is during big girl gymnastics! And you can see Brandi, who is an absolute saint. Love her. And proud of Genny.

an outing with the little girl.

I wrote this a couple of weeks ago, but was interrupted or something and didn't finish it. Just found the unfinished post and decided to finish it up................

Before Audrey was born, Genny and I spent every day together doing stuff. And it was fun. But at the same time, I'm not sure she appreciated it as much since it was just what we did. After all, what else did I have to do except spend time with her?

But since Audrey was born, that time has been hard to come by. She's had a lot of one-on-one time with Robert, but not so much with me. So today I asked her to go to the mall with me. I needed some makeup. I promised cookies.

We got to talk on the way there. I promised myself I wouldn't hurry her or nag. She held my hand the whole time. We went to the Clinique counter and she sat in my lap as the lady found my foundation color. We sang a song and danced as I paid. She kept pulling my hand up to her face like it was a special time for her too. We got cookies and sat and ate them. We sat where she wanted to.

Then we got back in the car, and we went to buy some things for her upcoming birthday party. We bought items for the favor bags. I let her choose whatever she wanted. Still holding hands. And plastic rings and bouncy balls for her friends too.
Anyway, it was a special date for us. Even though I miss having a lot of time with Genny, I don't think I appreciated it as much! Now I treasure each Genny-and-Mommy adventure that we get!

Audrey Kate Extreme Close Up

hello Audrey

The fair

My sweet husband handed me some money the other day to do whatever I wanted to with. How nice! And I decided I wanted to spend part of it taking us all to the fair.

We visited the petting zoo.We got Genny to ride the carousel. This was a Big Deal. It took about 40 minutes of walking around to get her on a ride. She was shaking like a leaf. But she liked it once it got started.

(This is the first time Gen has ridden any sort of ride at all. )

She then decided to ride the bugs that go in a circle. And by the time we got to the dinosaurs she was a pro.So we finished the evening by riding the smallest roller coaster. Twice.

mom is not cool.

So Genny is now very into pretending. And it's fun. Sometimes, though, I just have to go along with whatever she's come up with that day. And sometimes apparently I don't do a good job....

So yesterday we were in the car. Genny always brings an animal and that time she had brought "little bunny" and a blanket for him. Genny had informed me that her 'tend {pretend} friends were riding with us. Audrey started to fuss, and Genny assured me that it was ok because she had brought some 'tend potato ice cream for Audrey and it would make her stop crying. And she had brought bowls and spoons and she had enough for me and her and her friends too.

So I tried to play along. "Genny, will little bunny eat some potato ice cream too?"

{exasperated sigh from Genny}

"No mom, he doesn't eat ice cream. I brought him some bunny food."

{sigh}

Genevieve is 3!

Happy Birthday to my sweet Genny!
